Robust demand lifts aluminium futures by 0.60 pc

prices edged up by 0.60 per cent to Rs 160.25 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions amid upsurge in spot demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, for delivery in June month edged higher by 95 paise, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 160.25 per kg in business turnover of 67 lots.

Similarly, the for delivery in May contract was trading higher by 90 paise, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 159.50 per kg in 376 lots.

Analysts said fresh positions by participants after pick up in demand from consuming industries in the physical market mainly led to the rise in prices at futures trade.
