Four sustained injuries in mob attack

Gajendran, one of the persons who sustained injuries in the mob attack at Athimoor village in Polur taluk on May 9, was shifted to a private hospital in Chennai. He was undergoing treatment at Christian Medical College (CMC) in Vellore.

On May 9, villagers of Athimoor assaulted five persons, who were in search of their ‘kuladeivam’ (family deity) temple in Tindivanam panchayat, Polur Taluk, suspecting them to be child kidnappers. In the attack, 65-year-old Rukmani, a resident of Chennai, succumbed to injuries, while four others, including Gajendran, sustained injuries. Gajendran, who was admitted to CMC, was shifted to a hospital in Chennai on Tuesday.
