If your daughters are above 18-years of age and involved in chatting with their boy friends for hours, then do to not warn them as in case they commit suicide, the Uttar Pradesh police will sent you jail after booking under Section 306 of IPC for Abetment to suicide.

This is what happened in Hardoi where the local police arrested the parents of two girls who committed suicide last month and sent them jail just as the two had warned their daughters to stop talking with their boy friends for several hours on mobile.

On April 22 last month, the body of two real sisters—Priya (20) and Julie (18), was found hanging with the ceiling of their residence in Marai hamlet of Hariyawa in Hardoi district. Local police registered a case and sent both the bodies for post mortem examination.

Additional SP, Nidhi Sonkar, who was supervising the investigation, claimed that during probe they found that both the girls were having love affair and that they chat for several hours with their boy friends on mobile. She claimed that the father of the girls when learnt of their chatting, had cursed them and warned them if they will continue with their chatting. Sonkar said that upset with this, both the girls committed suicide so they arrested the parents on Tuesday and sent them to jail after booking them for forcing their daughters to commit suicide.

Meanwhile in another case reported from Kaushambi, a young couple allegedly committed suicide by jumping before a moving train after being upset by their families. The couple belonged to the same caste, which was not acceptable to their families, the local police claimed while citing the reason behind the suicide. On Tuesday night, both left their respective homes in Mujahidpur village and their bodies were found from the railway tracks at the Mardhara crossing in Kokhraj on Wednesday morning. The police have sent the bodies for post-mortem and further investigations are on.
