All M1 northbound lanes closed after police incident on Gold Coast

All northbound M1 lanes have been closed on Thursday night following a police incident.

The motorway was closed about 6.10pm after the incident at the overpass near exit 49 in the northern Gold Coast suburb of Pimpama.

A man died in the incident and the death is being treated as non-suspicious.

About eight kilometres of delays stretched back to Helensvale at 7.30pm and a police service spokesman said the motorway was expected to be closed until at least 9.30pm.
