JAIPUR:
Dust storm and thundershowers continued across the state for the third consecutive day on Thursday. Despite showers at many places mercury continued to take an upward swing and no respite was seen at majority of the places. Bundi remained hottest in the state where a maximum temperature of 45 degree Celsius was recorded.
Attributing the continued
dust storm and thundershowers to the active upper air cyclonic circulation the
Jaipur Met office said that similar conditions will prevail at Jaipur, Dholpur, Bharatpur, Karauli and
Sawai Madhopur districts of the state.
Jaipurities woke up to a comparatively pleasant morning as a minimum temperature of 28 degree Celsius was recorded in the city. It was followed by a dusty and cloudy afternoon having a maximum temperature of 42.4 degree Celsius. In the evening many places in the city witnessed scattered rainfall and dusty winds which affected normal life. A few areas in the city witnessed abrupt power cuts, however no major loss was witnessed. Due to the dust storm a few flights got delayed from the Jaipur airport which also faced a few flight diversions.
Bundi was followed by
Bikaner where a maximum temperature of 44.5 degree Celsius was recorded, Barmer and Jaisalmer 43.9 degree Celsius each, Jodhpur 43.5, Churu 43.3, Kota 43.1, Udaipur 42.2, Ajmer 42.0, and Pilani with 40.2 degree Celsius.
In its forecast Jaipur Met office said that dust storm and thundershowers would be witnessed at many places in the northern and eastern parts of the state. However, the weather would mainly remain dry in western
Rajasthan for the next 24 hours.
