Cabinet approves setting up of new AIIMS at Deoghar, Jharkhand |
Cabinet today approved setting up of a new AIIMS at Deoghar in Jharkhand. Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said in New Delhi that a provision of funds worth 1103 crore rupees has been approved for the project. He said, AIIMS will be set up under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, PMSSY.
The AIIMS at Deoghar will consist of a hospital with a capacity of 750 beds, trauma centre facilities and a medical college with an-in take of 100 MBBS students per year. It will also have an Ayush department with 30 beds for providing treatment facilities in the traditional system of medicine.
