A person is in a critical condition after a two-car crash in Waiuku, south of Auckland.
Emergency services, including the Westpac helicopter, were called to the crash on Awhitu Road on Wednesday afternoon.
Two other people were also injured, a police spokesman said.
A section of Awhitu Rd was blocked, and diversions were in place at the intersections of Taurangaruru and Kaihau roads.
Motorists in the Waiuku township area were advised to delay their travel and avoid the area if possible, the spokesman said.
The Serious Crash Unit has been notified.
