Two teenage men allegedly armed with a hockey stick entered a Ruthven Rd dairy in Wainuiomata, Lower Hutt.
A dairy shop keeper who was hit with a hockey stick while the store was robbed is in hospital.
Two teen boys allegedly armed with a hockey stick entered the Ruthven Rd, Wainuiomata store in Lower Hutt shortly on Wednesday.
Police were called to a robbery after 5.30pm.
The shopkeeper was allegedly hit with the hockey stick before a sum of cash was taken from the store.
Police said the man's injuries were "not critical". He was taken to hospital for further checks.
The two teens are in police custody following the incident.
