‘Cannot have the same dal every day’, says Raazi actress Alia Bhatt

Just the way Alia Bhatt likes to eat different things every day, she prefers variety in the roles she plays, as well

Riding high on the success of her recent release, ‘Raazi’, Alia Bhatt has once again proved she is a versatile actor and can pull off any role or get into the skin of any character. Be it the headstrong Vaidehi Trivedi in ‘Badrinath Ki Dulhania’ or the independent Kaira in ‘Dear Zindagi’, Alia’s career graph so far speaks for itself.

When asked if this diversity in her career was planned or did she just get lucky, the actress said, “It is conscious in a way and not too. By default, I have been drawn towards these different characters. I cannot have the same dal every day, I keep telling my cook to switch between them. I guess that logic of mine applies with films I choose too!”

With Raazi done, Alia has some interesting films coming up. Ask her about her upcoming movie list and the actress quips, “There is ‘Kalank’ which is an epic drama, there is ‘Gully Boy’, which we just finished filming. It is a supernatural fantasy film, it is beautiful. Then there is ‘Bhramastra’. I will be alternating between ‘Kalank’ and ‘Bhramastra’ in the coming months. There were says in between, I was on the verge of asking, who am I being today? I guess that’s why they say that directors are the most important on the sets, my directors have really helped me a lot through my juggle with different genres and characters.”
