Control centre opened ahead of Ramzan

The Kumram Bheem Asifabad police have opened a round-the-clock control centre operated by Special Branch cops to maintain law and order during the holy month of Ramzan starting Thursday.

People have been asked to call on 79016-74814 to air grievances and in case they notice anything suspicious.

At a peace meeting involving elders from different faiths that was chaired by Collector Prashant J. Patil and in-charge Superintendent of Police Vishnu S. Warrier, local residents were cautioned against falling for rumours and fake news that may be circulated through social media.

People were advised to bring any such instance to the notice of the police.

Mr. Patil assured locals that gift packs from the government will be distributed in a transparent manner. Additional SP Sedmaki Godru and DSPs of Asifabad and Kagaznagar also attended the meeting.

The Adilabad district administration has assured complete support and facilities to the Muslim community for observing fast during the holy month.

Collector D. Divya instructed the police, Transco and municipal departments to make necessary arrangements in this regard. A control room would be established for the common people to report any Ramzan-related grievances. Power supply would be maintained, especially in the mornings when the fast begins and in the evenings when it ends, she said.

SP Warrier appealed for peace during the festivities. Muslim elders and members of the local Hindu Utsav Samithi attended the meeting.
