Cabinet Okays increase in salaries of Boards, Corporation heads

The State Cabinet on Tuesday decided to increase salaries of Chairperson and Vice Chairpersons of Boards, Commissions and Authorities who have been given status of Minister and Minister of State up to 2.5%. During a Cabinet meeting held at Project Building in Ranchi, it gave its approval for 11 proposals including relaxation of post entrance scholarship for ST, SC and OBC students. 

“Now the Chairman, Vice Chairman and Member of any Board, Corporation or Authority will get a salary of Rs 75000, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25000 respectively while those enjoying status of Minister and Minister of State will get a total of Rs 1.11 Lakh and Rs 96,000 respectively,” said Rahate.

In a big relief to government employees the Cabinet increased the dearness allowance of the employees and pensioners to 3%. The DA has been increased to 142%, which earlier was 139%.

The State Cabinet has also given its approval for making relaxation in the scholarships for ST, SC and OBC candidates, who have been studying outside the State. As per the decision taken by it through a notification issued by the State Government, scholarship given to the students under group III and IV trades had been discontinued which will be continued following the decision.

Group I and II include technical courses like Engineering, MBBS and M.Tech, for which students must be given scholarship, said the Cabinet Secretary.

The Cabinet also Okayed the proposal for opening a regional office of GAIL India limited over 4.05 acres of land at Nagri in Ranchi.

 “The Cabinet today gave its approval for construction of regional office of GAIL India Limited for which it will pay sum of Rs 15.86 Crore to the State Government,” said Cabinet Secretary SKG Rahate.

In another decision taken by the Cabinet, it also Okayed the proposal of restoration of 2000 ponds by spending Rs 300 crore under Rice Fellow Development Programme under which such private ponds will also be overhauled which were being used publically by the people living nearby.

“Approval for a total of 2000 ponds have been given, which includes 1000 government and 1000 private ponds. Generally, 75% of it is done on recommendations of the concerned MLA while the rest 25% of them is recommended by DC but if MLAs fail to make adequate recommendations May 22, remaining quota of ponds will be revamped on recommendations of DCs,” said Agriculture Secretary Puja Singhal. The drive will be started on the occasion of water conservation day on May 24 with 1000 ponds, she added.

Other decisions:

  • Creation of 31 posts in different departments for State Paramedical Institute at RIMS.
  • Creation of posts for Cardiothorasic Surgery for Super Specialty Wing of RIMS.
  • Giving 5.92 acre of land to Rungta Mines at Raj Nagar in Kharsawan Saraikela to on lease for 30 years at the cost of  Rs 46,11, 150.
