UP govt has decided to increase Junior Residents in hospitals

With an aim to improving healthcare facilities in the state the Yogi Government has decided to increase the posts of Junior Residents in the state run hospitals besides authorized RITES to prepare DPR for construction of Metro rail in Gorakhpur. The decisions were taken in the cabinet meeting held here Tuesday.  Government spokesman and Health Minister Sidharthnath Singh said that government has increased the posts of Non-PG Junior Resident doctors posted in six government medical  colleges namely in Gorakhpur, Agra, Meerut, Jhansi, Allahabad and Kanpur. “Earlier the sanctioned posts of Non-PG Junior Resident Doctors in these hospitals were 104. The government has decided to create 484 more posts. This is bound to improve health care facilities,” Singh told reporters. The cabinet has also decided to appoint RITES for preparing DPR and feasibility report for construction of Metro Rail in Gorakhpur. The report is expected very soon. The cabinet has also approved amendments in the Molasses Act proposing stringent penalties for making and transportation of illegal molasses. The amendment has been carried out in section 11, 11(A) and 16 of the Act.  Earlier the penalty was Rs 2000 fine or jail for 1year. But after amendment the penalty has been hiked to Rs 1 lakh or I year jail term or both.

The cabinet was informed that Public Works Department has spent Rs 6771.88 crore in the last fiscal of 2017-18 in which over 2000 projects were carried out. Cabinet also gave approval to demolish servant quarter in the PWD Office in Mahatma Gandhi road to build parking space there. Rs 13.33 lakh has bene approved for this proposal. To stop the exodus of youth from the villages to cities government has decided to reimburse interest for the loan of Rs 25 lakh which will be given to Youth under Pt Deen Dayal Gram Udyog Rozgar Yojana. Government spokesman said that this will be an extension of Pradhan mantra Rozgar Yojana and the loan will be reimbursed for next three years only and will carry a cap of 13 per cent. Government has also decided to install Advance Traffic Management System in Agra-Lucknow Expressway under which CCTVs and emergency call centres will be installed. The cabinet has approved Rs 30 cr for this scheme. The state cabinet has rejected the proposal of Allahabad High Court to conduct UP Civil Judiciary Junior Division examination. This exam is being conducted by UP Public Service Commission and Cabinet said UPPSC will continue to conduct this examination.
