Launches ACDP, says will contest 2019 LS elections

Former Calcutta High Court judge C.S. Karnan, who was jailed by the Supreme Court for contempt of court, launched the Anti Corruption Dynamic Party (ACDP) in Kolkata on Wednesday.

Mr. Karnan is its founding president.

Mr. Karnan said that his party will contest the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

The controversial judge was released from Kolkata’s Presidency jail after serving a sentence of six months imprisonment on December 20, 2017.

“The Anti Corruption Dynamic Party will be a national party. We have approached the Election Commission for registration,” Mr. Karnan told journalists. “We will field women candidates from all the seats. Men will get posts in the party.” He also said that he will not contest in the next elections but will campaign for his party.
