Certificate course on sport coaching in KIIT

A six-week certificate course conducted by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) through its academic wing NSNIS, Patiala on sports coaching for men and women at the KIIT University, from May 15 to June 23, was inaugurated by KIIT and KISS founder Prof Achyuta Samanta here on Tuesday.

In the week-long course a total of 160 participants (140 boys and 20 girls) from 23 States across the country including two from Nepal and 26 from Odisha would participate.

As many as 42 participants have participated in badminton, 25 in basketball, 26 in cricket, five in hockey, 47 in swimming and 15 in volleyball.

Tirthesh Guha would impart coaching on basketball, Pallab Dasgupta on cricket, Sujit Lakra on hockey, Jagannath Sihi in volleyball, Prabir Basak, Ashok Singh on swimming and HS Rawat on badminton. Dr Gaganendu Dash would coordinate the course.
