A Cambridge woman is facing stunt driving charges after she was clocked going 142 km/h in an 80 km/h zone, Hamilton police say.
According to a news release, police were watching for speeders on Highway 6 between Safari Road and Concession Road 7 just after midnight on Wednesday.
That's when the officer saw a black four-door Nissan Sentra was seen blowing past slower moving traffic, police say.
The woman was clocked going 62 km/h over the speed limit, the news release reads. Officers were able to catch up with her north of Safari Road.
"The driver, a 35-year-old Cambridge woman, was accompanied by two small children when police approached the vehicle," the police news release reads.
The woman was charged with stunt driving, speeding, and operating a vehicle without insurance.
The woman's licence was suspended for a week. Her car was also impounded for seven days.
"Additional penalties can be administered through the court system," police said in a news release.
