Castor seed futures dip on weak spot cues

Press Trust of India  |  New Delhi

Castor seed prices fell Rs 27 to Rs 4,047 per in futures trade today as investors offloaded their holdings, tracking a weak trend at the physical markets.

Market players attributed the fall to subdued spot market cues due to mounting stocks on increased arrivals from growing belts against muted demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, castor seed for the most-traded delivery in June contracts dropped by Rs 27 or 0.66 per cent to Rs 4,047 per quintal, with an open interest of 97,860 lots.

Castor seed to be delivered this month also traded lower by Rs 15 or 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,005 per quintal, in an open interest of 870 lots.
