Man Utd transfer news: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic fee claim made by Stefano Fiore
MANCHESTER UNITED transfer target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is worth more than £61m.
That’s the verdict of former Lazio star Stefano Fiore as Jose Mourinho eyes up a summer deal for the Serbia international.
Milinkovic-Savic has emerged as one of the world’s top midfield prospects since making his Lazio debut back in 2015.
And his form at the Stadio Olimpico has seen him linked with a big-money move to one of Europe’s elite clubs.
Manchester United and Real Madrid have been touted as possible destinations for Milinkovic-Savic once the transfer window reopens in the summer.
And Fiore, who spent three years at Lazio during his own playing career, has offered his take on how much it would cost to sign the 23-year-old.
"Given the figures that are now involved in football, he is worth the money because of the quality and characteristics he possesses," Fiore told RMC Sport.
"I also watch a lot of foreign football but players like him are not there.

"An auction will open and we'll see what happens, but if a defender can go for €70m (£61m) in England then Milinkovic-Savic is worth much more.
"That said, the market has gone crazy and should return to more normal figures."
Reports earlier this month claimed United had agreed a whopping £80m deal with Lazio for Milinkovic-Savic.
However, his agent Mateja Kezman revealed that talks were not underway at that stage.
"Lazio have three big games to go and nobody has talked about any negotiations at this moment," he said.
"The Biancocelesti have the opportunity to get their best result of recent years by qualifying for the Champions League.
"It’s only normal there is enormous interest in Sergej between some top European clubs, but we do not have any agreement with any club."
