Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan assured pensioners the benefits of 7th Pay Commission recommendations on Monday. A delegation of pensioners association had called on Chouhan seeking revision of pension as per the 7th Pay scale and their other demands.
Chief Minister assured that the benefits will be made available to the retirees. FM Jayant Mallaya and ACS (finance) AK Shrivastava were also present when the delegation met the CM. When implemented, the retirees would get 2.57 times hike in their pensions with effect from January 2016. Nearly 4.83 lakh pensioners will gain by Rs 3000 to 30,000 per month. There will be pension board which will look into matter including medical facilities and other welfare schemes which government has introduced in Madhya Pradesh. However, the government is yet to clarify the mode of payment of the arrears.
GD Joshi, vice president of MP Pensioners Association, said that Chief Minister as assured us the 2.57 times pension hike as per the provision of 7th Pay Commission recommendations. “Now nearly 4.83 lakh pensioners will be benefited. Nearly 2 lakh pensioners will get benefit of minimum Rs 3,000, while 1.75 lakh middle –class pensioners will avail Rs 10,000 benefit and other would get benefit of Rs 20,000-30,000,” said Joshi. CM though has accepted our demands but nothing is clear about arrears which are to be given from January 1, 2016, said Joshi.
