We have lost three matches on the bounce, hopefully, we will stop that rot. Two changes for us - Yuvraj Singh and Manoj Tiwary are back, they replace Mayank Agarwal and Karun Nair. Mujeeb is still not fit, hopefully, he will be back for the next match.

Rohit: We were bowling first as well. Dew is a factor, but we are not worried about it, we need to play some good cricket. I have been in this position over the last few years and I know how to handle the situation. The team has handled it better than me, I think we have done well considering how we played in the first half of the tournament. We are not thinking about the Delhi match at the moment. TOSS NEWS: R Ashwin wins the toss and decides to bowl first. Rohit says he too would have loved to bowl on this wicket as chasing at the Wankhede has almost become a norm at this historic ground. Rohit says the team is out there to win and get the two points. Ashwin says he expected the dip in such a long format. Yuvraj and Manoj are in for KXIP. Mujeeb not ready. Pollard is back for MI.

While Mumbai need a win to stay alive in the tournament, Punjab need a win to arrest their bad run of form off late. Tare conceded that MI has played an important role in his career but said that now he knows how to deal with sitting out of the playing eleven. "It is not a great thing sitting out on the bench. This is my ninth season in the IPL and I have sat a lot of games on the bench, so by now I know how to deal with it. Sometimes you just cannot control and have to hope for the best going forward. IPL is not the end of everything. I am still a first class captain and have got lot of positive things to look forward to. Even if I am sitting out now, you never know how things can change and next season I will be a very important player, so that is the thinking I have. It's not the end of my career (or) end of life if I am sitting out for the entire season.”

Tare also said that MI would be playing fearless cricket and the team knows that if they win their two games, they can still make it to the play-offs, although they have gathered only 10 points from as many games.  “It is an important stage for us, we know that if we win (the next) two games, we will make it (to the play-offs). We have been in this situation before (in 2014). We are just positive and we want to be fearless, that's what the thinking is," he said.

Mumbai Indians reserve wicket-keeper Aditya Tare had words of praise for young Jharkhand stumper Ishan Kishan saying the stumper has enormous talent and that's the reason why the IPL defending champions have backed him. "He is pretty young. 19-20 years old and the talent that he has is enormous. That's the reason Mumbai Indians have backed him as the first choice. It is the start in his career, so it is a great opportunity for him playing for MI. A couple of games back he won a game for us, so it shows the amount of ability he has with the bat. This experience of playing all the games for a franchise like MI is going to help him going forward in his career.”

Despite being used in the death, Tye & Mujeeb have a combined economy of 7.54 while all other KXIP bowlers have an economy of 9.31. They have also picked up wickets at regular intervals, managing a combined bowling average of 19.82, while the other bowlers have a poor average of 44.10.

This means that the bowling responsibility is being shared between Tye and Mujeeb. The duo have been phenomenal this season picking up a massive 34 wickets between them, the most by a pair of any side in IPL 2018.

A part of that failure could be attributed to battling failure.
