SURAT: A 26-year-old Congress worker from
Limbayat area, Gufran Chirag
Mansuri, was brutally stabbed to death near his residence, early on Wednesday. The victim was stabbed several times by eight persons. He was later shifted to a hospital for treatment where he was declared dead. Police arrested three accused involved in the murder and started search operation to nab others.
The deceased and his family had submitted written complaints against the murder accused many times in Limbayat police station and city police commissioner office during last five months. The deceased had expressed fear of being murdered and informed police that the accused were moving in the area with deadly weapons.
Police booked eight persons in Limbayat police station on Wednesday for allegedly killing Mansuri. All the accused have escaped from the spot after murder. Police have kept search at strategic locations to nab the attackers.
After Mansuri’s death the family members did not allow police to take the body for post-mortem from a private hospital in
Khatodara on Wednesday morning. The family members gathered outside the hospital and blamed police for inaction. After discussion with police the family members allowed them to take the body for post-mortem.
