Thieves targeted three showrooms in central Delhi's Connaught Place since Sunday and escaped with over Rs 3 lakh, readymade garments and other valuables, police said on Wednesday.
Police said the first break-in was reported on Sunday at the Raymond showroom in A-block by Manager Ajay Behal who complained that four to five thieves entered through the main glass door and took away two CCTVs.
As per CCTV footage at the shop, the men entered the showroom at 4.50 a.m. and escaped with digital CCTVs and readymade garments," Behal told IANS.
Behal expressed concern over security in the posh shopping centre.
The second theft was reported on Monday morning when robbers struck at a readymades' brand store in B-block.
"A group of thieves entered the shop at 5 a.m. and took away Rs 3 lakh from the cash box, and over 150 branded trousers and shirts. They also took DVR of the store," showroom Manager Prabhjot Singh said.
The third case was reported on Monday morning after a security guard found the shutter locks on the 'Reebok' store in D-block broken and informed the store manager, police said.
The men stole Rs 30,000, some branded shoes and other articles. They took away the DVR also.
"We have registered separate FIRs and are making efforts to arrest the accused. We have got leads after scanning CCTV footage," Deputy Commissioner of Police Madhur Verma said.
"We suspect these thefts to be the handiwork of the same gang," Verma added.
