Bhopal: Temperature eases by a notch, rains expected in eastern parts of state  


Bhopal: The heat wave conditions that hit many parts of Madhya Pradesh for the last many days have seen a marginal improvement as the temperatures that were settling above the 45-degree mark at isolated parts dipped to settle near 44- degree mark.

However, heat wave prevailed in places like Nowgaon, Khajuraho, Damoh, Sagar, Rajgarh, Datia have been witnessing heat wave type conditions since many days. Heat wave is likely to lash districts like Khargone, Sheopurkalan, Rajgarh, Chhattarpur, and Hoshangabad.

Moreover, heat wave conditions may cover some more parts of these states in the coming two to three days as the west-northwesterly winds, which are blowing from Sindh and Balochistan region where the temperatures are already high, will also contribute to the increasing temperature.


Temperatures are likely fall marginally over these rains affected areas. Weather over West Madhya Pradesh is expected to remain dry and hot. Beside, pre-Monsoon rains have been making an appearance in eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh since the last few days. However, during the last 24 hours, scattered light rains occurred over eastern parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Light rains likely to hit  Hoshangabad, Rewa, Shahdol and Chambal divisions and various districts  like Balaghat, Mandla, Chhindwara, Seoni, Indore, Dhar, Khargone,  Burhanpur, Raisen, Guna, Ashok Nagar, Ujjain, Ratlam, Neemuch, and Mandsaur. According to meteorological department, western parts of MP are likely to be hot while eastern parts to experience light rain in Madhya Pradesh. The trend will prevail for the time being.

Bhopal recorded a maximum temperature of 41.3 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of 28.4 degree Celsius. Indore recorded a maximum temperature of 39.8 degree Celsius while it recorded a minimum temperature of 25.7 degree Celsius.
