After two days of rain and a schedule that was already lagging behind, Seminole District representatives decided to cancel the remainder of their spring baseball, softball and boys and girls soccer tournaments Wednesday morning.

The tourney started with quarterfinal rounds Monday. The district’s eight principals agreed to cancel the semifinal and championship rounds because of the potential of the tournament ending just before the start of region play in Region 4D, Amherst County Athletic Director Robert Curd said.

Region tourneys represent the final postseason stop before the VHSL’s Spring Jubilee. Region play in 4D begins next Wednesday, while Region 3C starts Monday, May 28.
