The incumbent Parala Maharaja’s former manager Ananga Manjari Patra’s brothers Amulya Patra and Akshaya Kumar Patra recently met DGP Dr Rajendra Prasad Sharma and requested him to provide justice to them in the mysterious deaths of their four siblings.

Amulya lamented that action has not been taken against culprits even after one year and eight months of their siblings’ deaths. The Crime Branch is investing the case and the Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has served notices for investigation and reports.

Notably, allegations were made in August 2016 that Anang Manjari had kept the Gajapati Maharaja under house arrest for which the latter’s health was deteriorating.

Then, mass protests were held at the palace. Subsequently, decomposed bodies of Ananga Manjari, her sister Bijaylaxmi and brother Sanjay were recovered on August 21 here. Ananga’s another brother Santosh was found in critical condition and he succumbed later at the MKCG Medical College Hospital in Brahmapur.

In response, the DGP has written a letter to the Crime Branch ACP to expedite the investigation into the matter.
