The woman who fell to her death from an Ocean City balcony has been identified as a Towson, Maryland, resident, according to Lindsay Richard, spokeswoman for the Ocean City Police Department.

Ocean City police identified the woman as Hailee P. Mitchell, 25.

Detectives who interviewed witnesses and processed the scene found no indication of foul play, she said.

An autopsy was completed Monday, but the final determination is pending as they work to get the toxicology results, Richard said Wednesday.

Mitchell fell from a third floor balcony of an apartment complex on 53rd Street early Sunday morning, police said.

Mitchell was a graduate of St. Michaels High School class of 2010 and attended Towson University, according to an obituary in the Easton The Star Democrat. A funeral service is set for Thursday in St. Michaels.

Officers responded at 5:55 a.m. on Sunday for an unconscious person, but the patient was determined to be dead by Ocean City Emergency Medical Service, police said.

Several deaths from balcony falls in the resort have been reported in recent years.

Last July, a 37-year-old man was listed in critical condition after he fell backward to the ground from the railing on a third-floor balcony at the 14th Street Commander Hotel. Alcohol played a role in the fall.

In March 2017, a woman died after falling from a balcony at the Holiday Inn at 17th Street in Ocean City. The death was deemed a suicide.
