In Photos: Lady Justice gets a new set of scales

STAUNTON — For decades, the Lady Justice has watched over Staunton from atop the Augusta County courthouse, holding high her scales of justice.  

And Doug Sheridan of Sunspots Studios has now had the chance to see the world from her point of view ... or at least from her vantage point. 

Contracted by Augusta County, Sheridan climbed the scaffolding surrounding the courthouse spire — worked on and replaced the scales Wednesday.

Although Lady Justice now has her new scales, work continues on the roof of the courthouse.
