UDYR is an intelligent, modular, and portable 48-volt lithium-ion battery. The battery is natively compatible with most two-wheelers and three-wheelers, allowing OEMs to use UDYR to accelerate their speed to market.

“With a universal design, it fits with 95% of electric scooters around the world. Our proprietary Battery Management Systems (BMS) enable each UDYR to connect with our smart backend life extension engine and personalise the experience for every rider,” said ION Energy CEO Akhil Aryan in an email.

ION Energy had recently acquired Freemens SAS, a France based battery management company, in a cash and equity transaction. As part of the transaction, the entire Freemens engineering and sales team had joined ION. Alexandre Collet, CEO of Freemens SAS, had joined ION as co-founder and VP of Engineering.

The company's investors include OMC Power and executives from Dentsu Aegis, Salesforce, Times Internet* and Credit Suisse.
