The annual Relay for Life of Nelson and Amherst counties will take place from 11 a.m. until 11 p.m. this Saturday, May 19, at Nelson County High School.
This is the first year the two communities will work together to fundraise on behalf of the American Cancer Society.
The event is set to begin with an opening ceremony at 11 a.m. to honor everyone who has been affected by cancer and those who have contributed to this year’s Relay season.
Survivors and caregivers will walk at 11:15 a.m.
There will also be a luminaria ceremony on Saturday and a closing ceremony at 10:45 p.m.
