New traffic regulations in Pune's Koregaon Park area

PUNE: Major traffic restrictions have been planned in the upmarket Koregaon Park area in Pune by the city traffic police.

As many as 16 traffic regulations have been proposed by the police in the area and for the purpose, police have demanded suggestions and objections of the local residents and road users.

Deputy commissioner of police (Traffic) Ashok Morale issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday evening.

Majority of the traffic regulations are pertaining to the creation of designated ‘parking’ and ‘no parking’ zones in the area.

According to the plans, parallel parking on the public road near Max Muller Bhavan will be banned and also No Parking zone has been planned on the road. Similarly, parallel parking and parking zones will be created on the Narangibaug road, Boat Club road, Naylor road, North Main road and road connecting Shreeman Chowk and Koregaon Park chowk.

Police have decided to ban U turn for the vehicles heading towards Koregaon Park using Sadhu Vaswani road from Queens Garden area.

No parking zones will be created on the Lane numbers E, 5, 6, and 8.

P1 and P2 Parking has been planned on the road joining Passport office to Ganga Orchid Society, and Right turn will be banned at the Koregaon Park chowk for the vehicles heading towards Gandhi Junction from North Main road.
