FALL RIVER — A Fall River man is scheduled to be arraigned next month on child rape charges.

On April 26, a Bristol County grand jury returned indictments charging Raymond Bullock, 30, of 38 Winter St., of five counts of aggravated rape of a child, 10-year difference, according to court records.

Bullock is alleged to have molested a young relative several times over a five-year period, beginning in October 2013 and not ending until March 18 at the victim's residence, according to court documents.

Fall River Police Detective Luis Vertentes was notified about the case after the victim told a friend at school about the alleged sexual abuse. The friend in turn notified a school adjustment counselor, according to police reports.

The victim told police that Bullock had raped them. Police obtained permission from the victim's mother to search the residence where the alleged rapes occurred, and subsequently arrested Bullock, according to court documents.

In an interview with police, investigators said Bullock admitted to molesting his young relative, and said, "I've been waiting for (the victim) to say something for so long," according to court documents.

Following a dangerousness hearing at Fall River District Court in late March, Bullock was ordered to be held without bail for up to 120 days. He will remain incarcerated, and is scheduled to be arraigned June 6 at Fall River Superior Court.
