Ontario Provincial Police say they are looking for someone who may have unknowingly given a lift to some people who had crashed a car after stealing it from a home in Hamilton.
Investigators were first contacted about a car crash on Radical Road in Norfolk County around 12:27 a.m. Tuesday. After looking into it, they discovered that the car was driving along Radical Road when it left the roadway and hit a row of cedar trees before stopping in a wheat field.
Police say they then found out the car — a 2000 grey Chrysler Neon — had been reported stolen earlier in Hamilton.
"It appears that the individuals in vehicle were able to get a ride from a Good Samaritan that stopped to render assistance," police said in a news release. "They were all possibly dropped off in the Port Dover area and police are looking to speak to the Good Samaritan."
The stolen car was recovered, police say.
