On a day a swachhta survey adjudged as the cleanest city, second year in row, Shivraj Singh Chouhan has thanked the citizens for the achievement.

As per the Swachh Survekshan 2018', released by Housing and in Delhi, Indore and have retained their first and second positions, respectively, from the last year survey.

"Proud and happy moment that in the #SwachhSurvekshan2018 survey Indore and have excelled and maintained number one and two positions again in the country. I appreciate and thank the awareness, passion and resolve of the residents of these metros. #NayaMP," Chouhan said in a tweet.

Compared to the previous surveys, this year's exercise allocated substantial weightage to the feedback from citizens based on their daily experience.

Indore was the cleanest city last year as well but that survey was conducted only for around 430 cities. However, this time it was conducted for around 4,200 cities.
