Richard Clayderman Concert Planned in Tehran

Richard Clayderman, the renowned French pianist who is honored in the Guinness Book of World Records as “the most successful pianist in the world,” will perform in Iran for the first time.
Accompanied by an orchestra, Clayderman will appear at the Ministry of Interior Auditorium in Tehran on June 22-23. Tickets are available at Iranconcert.com.
Clayderman will offer the audience a specially arranged version of ‘Ey Iran’ (O Iran), a popular patriotic song serving as a de facto anthem of the country, Honaronline reported on its Persian website.
Clayderman’s distinctive piano style has earned him superstar status across continents. He has recorded over 1,200 melodies and by virtue of his efforts has arguably done more to popularizing piano around the world than anyone else since Beethoven.
He has created a new romantic style through a repertoire which combines his ‘trademark’ originals with classics and pop standards, according to the website of the artist, Clayderman.co.uk.
However, the Prince of Romance (as Clayderman was dubbed by actress Nancy Reagan, the First Lady of the US from 1981-1989) is not simply a recording artist; his live concerts are equally perfect.
“I love performing live on stage,” Clayderman says, “because I have direct contact with my audience. In concerts, with my 10 musicians or a symphony orchestra, I like to mix different tempos, rhythms and styles to evoke all kinds of emotion.”
