12-year-old girl goes missing; unidentified person booked

PATIALA: Police here have registered a case under various sections of kidnapping against unidentified accused after a 12-year-old minor girl was missing. The police said that the girl had gone to school on Saturday along with her three younger sisters but did not return home.
The police said the girl entered the school gate with her sisters but later came out of the school, following which she did not return. Suspecting that the minor might have gone to her relatives' home, the police said that the matter was being probed thoroughly.

The police added that the minor's family is completely unaware about her whereabouts. The family members also said they scolded the girls over some issue a night before she went missing.

"We have registered a case under various sections of kidnapping against an unidentified person. There are no clues as to where she could have gone. We are taking help of the CCTV cameras installed on the route which the girl used to take while going to school," the cops said.

"We are also questioning the school authorities and the security guard, but nothing substantial has been found yet," the police officials added.

The girl's parents are migrant workers and working as labourers.
