They committed offences in Tirupati, Vizag, Hyderabad

The Crime Police have arrested three inter-State theives for their alleged involvement in many house-breaking incidents reported from in Tirupati, Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad, and recovered gold, silver and cash, all worth ₹18.66 lakh from their possession.

Acting on a credible tip-off, a police team led by Circle Inspector C. Bhaskar Reddy laid in wait on Chelopalle-Alipiri road on Sunday and arrested the two criminals— Shaik Jani alias Jani Basha (23) from Vijayawada and Ulavala Rajesh (23) from Gajuwaka in Visakhapatnam—who were allegedly involved in the offences.

Spilling the beans

During interrogation, the duo confessed to their involvement in house-breaking offences reported from Tiruchanur, Muthyala Reddy Palle and Gajulamandyam police limits in Tirupati Urban Police district. The cops recovered 112 grams of gold, 750 grams of silver, six motor cycles from their possession.

On the same road, another police team led by Inspector T. Madhu arrested Jogi Srinivasulu alias Isuka Ravi (39) from Punganur town in Chittoor district and recovered 207 grams of gold, 6.34 kg of silver and ₹37,000 in cash.

Under the supervision of DSP (Crime) R. Ravishankar Reddy, the arrests were made by Inspectors T. Abbanna, Rasool Saheb and Sarath Chandra.

Proposals have been sent to Chitttoor Superintendent of Police Abhishek Mohanty and Additional Superintendent of Police D. Sidda Reddy to announce rewards for the cops involved in the operations.
