PM to review schemes for aspirational districts during visit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his proposed May 25 visit to the State would also preside over a review meeting of the schemes going on in the aspirational districts which have been on the last leg of development for a considerable period.

Informing about this an official of the Rural Development Department said that the meeting would help speeding up the schemes going on in those areas. “As per plan the Prime Minister would review the performance of the schemes going on in as many as 18 districts which have been identified as aspirational districts in Jharkhand,” he said.

On the other hand, Chief Minister Raghubar Das on Monday also reviewed action plans prepared in relation to flagship schemes for aspirational district of falling into Kolhan and Palamu divisions. He instructed the officials coming from the districts to accelerate implementation of schemes concerning poor.

“Continuous monitoring and review of schemes like Saubhagya, Ujjwala, housing for poor etc should take place regularly.

DCs should seek recommendation for ponds from Ministers and MLAs concerned. Self decision can also be taken to start work so that those are completed before the rainy season. Encourage schemes which are on priority of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and built keeping an eye on poor,” said the CM in the meeting.

The Chief Minister was also for speedy implementation of these schemes with able and active participation of the people. He was also particular about Saubhagya scheme under which BPL families are to be given free electricity connections.

“It has to be completed on mission mode. Before the rains, complete the pole work so there will be no difficulty in pulling the electric wire in monsoon. District and block coordinator will help in this. The Deputy Commissioner should hold a meeting in every ten days only for electricity. Houses built under the Prime Minister Housing Scheme should get electricity connection simultaneously,” said Das.

The CM was informed that under the Clean India Mission, eight districts of the State so far have been declared ODF and by October 2 entire Jharkhand would achieve the goal of complete sanitation. “Under Clean India Mission, Palamu district needs special focus because it is still very far from the target. Focus should also be in providing gas connection as soon as possible under Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme by completing KYC procedure,” said added.

The CM also talked about improving basic sectors like education, opening hospitals and starting health sub-centres, organising agriculture festivals and providing benefits of schemes to beneficiaries.

In the meeting, the Energy Department presented the timeline for providing electricity connections to every household by December. Rural Development Department informed progress being made under Clean India Mission and Prime Minister Ujjwala scheme. It was decided to select a Sakhi mandal heads in every district and prepare list of tribal villages with more than 500 populations.

Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi, Development Commissioner Sukhdeo Singh, Principal Secretary of Cabinet Secretariat and Coordination Department SKG Rahate along with principal secretaries and secretaries of departments and DC of West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Saraikela-Kharsawan, Palamu, Garhwa and  Latehar were present.
