Red Sox relief pitcher Carson Smith has been placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right shoulder subluxation, the team announced Tuesday afternoon.


Team president Dave Dombrowski said Smith hurt his shoulder throwing his glove after leaving Monday's game. He added that there is no timetable at this point for recovery, an MRI is scheduled for today, with a second opinion coming.


Dombrowski said it has the "potential to be a major injury."
