UG admission at DU begins today

University launches portal, to release bulletin of information

Admissions to undergraduate programmes at Delhi University will begin on May 15 with the university launching its online portal for 2018 admissions. The university will also release its bulletin of information which will contain details about how to calculate “best four” for different UG programmes as well as details on entrance examination-based courses, sports quota and extracurricular quota.

The varsity will be organising open days for aspiring students between May 21 and May 29 at the Conference Centre in North Campus in which participants will be able to clear all doubts as well as interact with expert panellists representing various departments of the university.

The varsity is launching its admission portal early so that students will have time to read the information bulletin carefully before filling the form. CBSE students who have not yet received their results can also fill the form. The form will automatically update the marks.

The university’s admission panel had held a two-day workshop to seek feedback from potential applicants about the portal. The university asked students to be careful while filling the form as once the form is submitted, changes cannot be made. They pointed out that in the previous years, many students lost out an opportunity to study at the university as they had filled in incorrect information.

Cut-off list

The first cut-off list will be released this year on June 19 and the second cut-off on June 25. This year, there is only one form for merit-based courses and entrance-based course at the undergraduate level. Students opting for sports quota as well as ECA admissions will also have to fill the same form. Students will also have to provide their bank account numbers so that any refunds while taking admission are remitted instantly.

The admission form will cost ₹150 for general category and ₹75 for reserved category applicants.
