British jihadists captured by Turkish authorities will be returned to the UK with their mobile phones and other evidence that can be used to prosecute them.

In a joint press conference with President Erdogan of Turkey, Theresa May announced a new agreement to help bring Britons that join Isil in Syria and Iraq to justice.

The agreement will see Turkey return suspected jihadists to the UK with mobiles and any media they have in their possession, along with transcripts of any interviews.

Her comments appear to represent a shift in the Government's approach, with ministers previously saying that all Britons who join Isil deserve to be killed.
