FALL RIVER – Jack Needham shut Durfee out for the final four innings and Bridgewater-Raynham posted a 3-2 baseball win over the Hilltoppers on Monday afternoon at Skip Lewis Field.

Needham finished with a six-hitter while Durfee’s complete-game losing pitcher Ethan Ferreira spun a seven-hitter. Ferreira, too, pitched shutout ball over the last four innings.

Durfee committed five errors and just one of B-R’s runs was earned. B-R played error-free defense.

Durfee’s Nate Ladeira was 2-for-3 with a run batted in. Zak Souza was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Ismael Moreno and Curtis Perry each tripled.

For the Trojans (5-10), Danny Taylor was 2-for-4 with a run scored, Anthony Fernandes was 2-for-4 and Kyle Brow had the only RBI.

Bridgewater-Raynham opened a 3-0 lead with a single run in the second inning and two in the third.

In the Durfee half of the third inning, after the first two batters were retired, Matt Saunders singled. Brett Fonseca was hit by a pitch. Ladeira and Souza followed with consecutive line-drive RBI singles to center to make it 3-2.

After a Remy Dumont walk, Needham ended the inning with a strikeout.

Perry tripled with one out in the seventh inning but was subsequently out during a rundown on a fielder’s choice grounder.

Needham ended the game with his eighth strikeout.
