Ten fire crews are at the scene of a suspected chemical incident on the Suffolk/Essex border

Firefighters from Woodbridge, Ixworth, Sudbury, Halstead, Woodbrdge, Long Melford, Haverhill and Colchester were called at 1:36pm and are expected to remain there until further notice.

According to Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service, the incident is thought to involve a chemical, which is understood to have frozen when it was released from a split container.

People near to it have reported feeling unwell, but it is not clear if anyone has been hurt or what the chemical is.

The East of England Ambulance Service said it had dispatched ambulances and the hazardous area response team.

A spokesman added: "Three patients have been discharged at the scene with no injuries of note and didn't require further hospital care."
