In a novel initiative, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Monday reviewed the progress of ongoing ‘Sujalam Sufalam Jal Sanchay Abhiyan’ with officials at six works sites in six districts through drone monitoring command control wall technology from his residence in the State capital Gandhinagar. A direct link was established with digging works at six water bodies in Rajkot, Tapi, Sabarkantha, Junagadh, Dahod and Narmda districts for the purpose.

He also talked to key officials of these districts and said that funds shouldn’t be an issue for completing the deepening and cleaning works of water bodies to ensure there wouldn’t be water crisis for next 50 years in the State.

The water conservation campaign has helped create 19-lakh man-days job mainly through MNREGA.
