A student from Andover High and Andover Central receive scholarships

The Andover Area Chamber of Commerce presented the inaugural scholarships to a student from Andover High School and a student from Andover Central High School at their senior assemblies in early May.
“It has been a goal of the Board of Directors with the Andover Chamber to start a scholarship to promote business and entrepreneurship as well as showing support to Andover students. We raise these funds through our Festival of Trees event held in November and it’s an honor to be able to present these two scholarships.”, states Becky Wolfe, President-CEO of the Andover Area Chamber of Commerce.
Stephanie Skaggs, Chamber Events Committee Chair and current Chamber Board of Director states “The Events Committee is excited to be a part of helping our youth gain access to valuable funds for their college experience. We will continue to increase the scholarship fund and look forward to providing these scholarships well into the future.”
The scholarship recipients for the first Andover Area Chamber of Commerce goes to Ms. Sidney Rucker of Andover High School and Ms. Clara Wade of Andover Central High School.
These scholarships are provided through an application and selection process, working with the Central Kansas Community Foundation. Counselors for each school will be provided with information for students to obtain when they are seeking scholarships for college. The Andover Area Chamber of Commerce will continue to take steps to increase this scholarship fund for the betterment of the Andover area community.
