GUWAHATI: The crime branch of the city police nabbed four youths with two
gold biscuits and cash from
Jalukbari area on Sunday night. The four - identified as
Joydeep Haldar,
Uttam Haldar, Rajesh Madal and Rajiv Dhar - were allegedly bringing the gold biscuits from Barpeta. Police sources claimed that one of them was associated with BJP's local youth wing.
Meanwhile, the customs anti-smuggling unit nabbed one Assam Police personnel, identified as Niren Borah, with 13 kilos of opium on Monday. "Borah was caught from the inter-state bus terminus area and the opium would be worth Rs 13 lakh in the illegal market," customs sources said. tnn
