Fair compensation denied to residents of High Road in Chittoor town, alleges Pawan Kalyan

Making a scathing attack on Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu on his home turf, Jana Sena Party chief Pawan Kalyan on Tuesday alleged that the former had failed to do justice to the people of Chittoor district. He also raised doubts over Mr. Naidu’s ability to address issues facing people of the State.

Mr. Pawan, who was on a whirlwind trip to Chittoor town, participated in a public rally at Greamspet circle, which culminated in a public meeting at Gandhi Bomma circle.

On the burning issue of payment of compensation to the residents of areas abutting High Road whose land was acquired to facilitate road widening, the Jana Sena chief said he would fight for their due.

“The Chief minister is providing hundreds of acres to foreign companies, but seems to be reluctant to go to the rescue of the people of Chittoor. How far it is correct to deny justice to the poor and extend concessions to the rich?”Mr. Pawan asked.

The JSP leader said fair compensation was paid when road widening was undertaken Nandyal, Vizianagaram and Srikalahasti.

“Even leaders of the ruling party of the town came to me seeking my intervention. I am not against development, but it should not be at the cost of the people,” he said.

Fan frenzy

Earlier, Mr. Pawan worshiped at the famous temples of Lord Vayulingeswaraswami at Srikalahasti and Lord Parasurameswara at Gudimallam.

At Srikalahasti, the authorities closed the main doors of the temple complex after the actor entered it to prevent the surge of fans.
