The Rookie -- ABC's new drama that asks the question "how old is too old to chase your dreams when your dreams are really hard on your knees?" -- has a trailer.

After spending eight seasons on ABC's Castle, Nathan Fillion slides right back into his crime-solving saddle on The Rookie, about John Nolan (Fillion), the LAPD's oldest rookie. At an age where most are at the peak of their career, Nolan bolted on his small-town life after getting divorced and surviving a bank robbery and moved to L.A. to live out a dream of being a cop. Now surrounded by rookies 20 years his junior, Nolan wades through the dangerous and occasionally laugh-out-loud funny world of being a baby cop, trying to make his second shot at life work. And in case you're thinking this is just another crazy TV show premise, it's based on a true story!

The ABC series comes from The Mark Gordon Company, which created Designated Survivor, and reunites Fillion with Castle executive producer Alexi Hawley.

The Rookie will air Tuesdays at 10/9c on ABC.
