The author Tom Wolfe, an exponent of the so-called New Journalism movement and author of such best-selling and influential books as "The Right Stuff," "Bonfire of the Vanities" and "A Man in Full," is dead at 88, the New York Times reported, citing Wolfe agent Lynn Nesbit. Nesbit, the Times reported, said the author had been hospitalized in Manhattan with an infection and died Monday. Wolfe, known for his cream-colored three-piece suits nearly as well as his literary output, is credited with coining the terms "radical chic" and "the 'me' decade." His last book, "The Kingdom of Speech," was published in 2016.
