Wheat softens on higher supply

prices drifted lower by Rs 10 per at the wholesale grains market today on increased supplies from producing belts and reduced offtake by mills.

However, other grains remained steady in thin trade.

Traders said adequate stocks position on increased arrivals from producing regions against reduced offtake by mills mainly led to decline in prices.

In the national capital, dara (for mills) slipped by Rs 10 to Rs 1,750-1,755 per Atta chakki delivery followed suit and traded lower by a similar margin to Rs 1,755-1,760 per 90 kg.
