Arsenal news: Liverpool defeats prove Invincibles are better than Manchester City - Moreno
MANCHESTER CITY’s defeats to Liverpool this season show they are not as good as Arsenal’s historic Invincibles side.

That is the opinion of ESPN FC pundit and former Major League Soccer star Alejandro Moreno.
Manchester City ran away with the Premier League title this season, finishing 19 points clear of second-placed Manchester United.
City looked as if they may go the entire campaign unbeaten like Arsenal did in 2003/04 until they lost 4-3 to Liverpool at Anfield in January.
Pep Guardiola’s side also suffered a heavy 5-1 aggregate defeat to the Reds in the Champions League quarter-final.
I just don’t know that Manchester City has as many answers as that Invincibles team had
And Moreno says those defeats prove City do not have a plan B when plan A is not working, something Arsenal’s Invincibles did possess.
“It’s so difficult to take one team, put them in a different era altogether and say ‘well, this is what would have happened’,” Moreno said on ESPN FC.
“Particularly when you think Manchester City and Pep Guardiola have brought a whole different style of playing. This is much more different than what it was back then.
“The ability to commit those numbers forward and the risk that you take as a team in doing so makes you vulnerable.

“So on the days when you’re not playing well, then a team like Liverpool comes around and destroys you the way that they have.
“It’s very difficult to then say ‘well this is the best team ever’ because they’re a vulnerable team.
“It’s a team that, if it’s not on a good day with the passing game, how else are they going to beat you?
“And I just don’t know that Manchester City has as many answers as that Invincibles team had.”
