Indore: Days after receiving a notice Kings XI Punjab paid entertainment and amusement tax, on its earnings from the IPL matches played in Holkar Stadium in the city, to Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC).
“We have received a payment of Rs 12 lakh from Kings XI Punjab as entertainment and amusement tax,” said deputy municipal commissioner Lokendra Singh Solanki.
IMC had Kings XI Punjab to pay 5 per cent of the aggregate turnover as tax for every match held in the city as per the Madhya Pradesh Municipal (Entertainment and Amusement) Tax rules 2018 on May 5.
Solanki stated that they have given a cheque of Rs 12 lakh so far and stated that the remaining about would be paid after calculation of earnings from tickets of the matches held on May 4, 6, 12 and 14.
